Management of High Risk Pregnancy
Pregnancy is in-general a challenging condition for women. A high-risk pregnancy defines the life threatening condition for mother and the child. It has a profound root of complications in the physical development of babies and even associated with their health in a long run.
There are various underneath causes due to high-risk pregnancy. One important factor is the age of the bearer. Women among the age of under 17 & above 35 have significantly more chances of high risk pregnancy. If the mother has experienced a complicated pregnancy before, she may also have a chance to undergo the same condition. A routine screening test like Ultrasonography, Blood test, Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) can detect the actual condition & risk of pregnancy. If these tests confirm the high risk of pregnancy, the bearer should need adequate care and regular monitoring and consultation from a doctor.
Often a high-risk pregnancy develops gradually due to major diseases during pregnancy as if a precondition of severe miscarriages or abortion, multiple births in one pregnancy, a small gap between multiple pregnancies and a past history of abnormal pregnancy.

Preeclampsia
Preeclampsia syndrome is risky for both mother and baby. It includes urinary problem, high blood pressure, and inflammation. If not treated properly, it would have a harmful effect on mother and baby’s health. With a proper medication, women are assured to deliver healthy babies.
Premature labor
It is uncertain for women whether she will have premature labor pain. If the women experience pain before 37 weeks of pregnancy it is considered under the high-risk pregnancy condition.
Multiple birth
If the woman carries multiple babies, twins or triplets, she may have chances to face premature labor or structural problems of the fetus. This is one of the great concerns to risk pregnancy.

- Vaginal bleeding
- Transparent White discharge like yeast infection
- Abnormal fetus movement
- Frequent contraction
Management
Women with high-risk pregnancy require to schedule prenatal visit with an obstetrician to closely monitor the progression of the pregnancy. A woman needs to be more attentive to her health, eat a nutritious diet, gain a proper amount of weight, and avoid risky substances or medications. Vitamins, iron supplements and medicines to enhance the health of the mother and fetus are often prescribed. Additional test may be recommended by a doctor for further screening. The ultrasonography test will confirm the actual condition of the pregnancy and if any further test needed. Normal delivery is hard to expect in these type of cases, the baby may be delivered through C-section thus should seek to appoint a well facilitate hospital for delivery.
